Sunday 6th February

13th day of hunger strike

The hunger strike of the 300 immigrant workers (50 of whom have been sheltered at the 7th floor of the Center for the Worker Unions of Thessaloniki) is on the 13th day. Despite their heavy struggle, they retain a high morale and a strong will, along with an admirable militancy.

The Open Solidarity Initiative of Thessaloniki calls for the following actions during the upcoming days:

• Tuesday 8th February, at 18.00 at Ampelokipi Sq.: Rally and march in the west districts of Thessaloniki
• Thursday 10th February, at 18:00 at Aghia Varvara: Rally and march in Toumba
• Friday 11th February, at 18:00 at Venizelos’ Statue: Solidarity Demonstration

The Solidarity Demonstration of the Friday, 11th February is part of the day for European-wide actions and events, as specified by the Initiatives for Solidarity to the hunger-strikers all over Greece. Similar demonstrations, actions and events will take place in many cities around Greece and abroad.

The Open Solidarity Initiative of Thessaloniki and the immigrants on hunger-strike call the local society to support the solidarity actions .

In case of changes or additions, the action plan will be updated via new press releases.
